Yarns & Yarns: Dark Unicorn and Ender's Game

"Real respect takes longer to earn than official respect."

"Perhaps it's impossible to wear an identify without becoming what you pretend to be."

"Although she had never sought power, she'd always had it."

Each of the above quotations are from Ender's Game. I found this book at a second hand book store called Half Price Books. Slowly, ever so slowly, I began to read science fiction. I find it expands my mind and helps me consider new things. Thinking outside the box is one phrase useful to describe science fiction.

I would also describe it as utterly creative. Fiber arts demands my creativity. To create a yarn, start to finish, requires thinking outside the box...at least in my little world.

The colors of the Dark Unicorn Yarn remind me of Ender's Game. They just seem to match both, despite unicorns being more of a fantasy book character.

Ender's Game is part of a series. I have not read any of the other books, for now. Just this one.

Perhaps you are looking for an out of this world adventure...which the movie did no justice to. This book is worth reading, even if only for variety in reading. Or, as I use science fiction, to spice up my creativity.

If you are looking for some juiced up creativity, you can find this book at your library, borrow it from a friend, or purchase it second hand (like I did). Sometimes books can be difficult to find, right when we want them. Here is the link, if that is your case:
