This research study has an interesting area in which the English angora and Jersey Wooly live longer than other breeds. Why? It is not known in this study. For bunny owners and breeders alike, this is worth reading. We do best by our rabbits by keeping them in clean environments and fed healthy foods.
As I write this, Arthur is around the average age of pet rabbit life expectancy. He is a senior rabbit. He remains happy, but has slowed down. He prefers to lay and get his head scratched. Or even, just sit near him while he relaxes. I take more care when picking him up. He isn't young.
Arthur has been well cared for and is a healthy rabbit. He has never had an infection or illness. He has never needed vet care due to ill-health. He has been and remains a kind-hearted, loving rabbit. When I think of "fiber friend", it is Arthur who comes to mind...and Beatrix, Nutmeg, Jeffery, Leopold, Edna, William, and yes, Mr. Black Betty, just to name a few. Each with their own personality and preferences. Each little rabbit is a joy. A delight. A friend.
